Pride Foundation Australia Large Grants - Round 1 - 2025

Pride Foundation Australia has announced its first large grant round for 2025 to a total value of $20,000 with a focus on supporting sexuality, sex and gender-diverse (LGBTQIA+) refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia.

Who can apply

Organisational status that is recognised through incorporation, who are registered as a business or association with an ABN (charity registration and DGR status is not required).

Individuals cannot apply.

Projects should aim to support sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) people who are refugees or seeking asylum in at least one of the following areas:

  • Improving access to stable housing
  • Enhancing education and/or workforce participation
  • Enhancing support for community connection and improving settlement outcomes
  • Improving health and/or health literacy
  • Supporting links to LGBTQIA+ services and supports
  • Enhancing cultural engagement and development
  • Improving LGBTQIA+ inclusivity and culturally appropriate practices in services.

Types of projects with a duration of up to two years may include any of the following:

  • Community development, or
  • Education and training initiatives, or
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives, or
  • Applied, community-led research with tangible outcomes in the field, or
  • Events including arts and cultural or conferences.

PFA encourages projects that are led by LGBTQIA+ refugees, people seeking asylum and/or people
of colour.

Projects that collaborate between refugee and asylum seeker agencies or groups and LGBTQIA+
agencies or groups are also encouraged. Where an LGBTQIA+ refugee-led group is in partnership
with another organisation, PFA encourages equal partnership and co-design.

Exclusions

The following activities will not be funded:

  • Capital and building works, vehicles, furniture or equipment,
  • General fundraising,
  • Travel, books, religious activities.
