Strategic Priorities for 2023-25

Economy

Enhancing the performance of the Northern Inland economy and helping to reduce business impediments is a priority for RDANI.  We focus on employment and business growth by increasing the supply of skilled and unskilled labour, including Skilled Migration, growing the visitor economy, building local skills and education and attracting new businesses and residents to the region to meet this goal.  Population growth is a key plank of this priority.

Community and Health

A thriving and positive community with access to quality services is important for building a vibrant and growing region.  In this arena we work on issues which include improved water supply/security, providing more housing, residential rental opportunities and residential land supply, recreational and cultural facilities and measures to reduce crime and safety issues.

Environment

There are several environmental issues which impact on both the economic and social well-being of our communities.  In particular, the challenges of climate change, natural disasters and water security are of high importance.  RDANI works on projects across all of these areas.  A key priority is to secure more local benefits from the developing New England Renewable Energy Zone.

Transport

Safe and efficient freight and passenger road, rail and air transport links will help to grow our economy and make the region more attractive to new residents and businesses.  We develop business cases and funding applications to improve transport infrastructure.  Building the evidence base is critical for attracting government funding into our local transport network.
