Donated Fodder Transport Subsidy Grant Run By: Rural Assistance Authority Further Information: https://www.raa.nsw.gov.au/grants/donated-fodder-transport-subsidy

A subsidy is available for the cost of transporting donated fodder organised by community groups or other organisations within NSW to a central location for distribution to properties affected by drought and other emergencies. This subsidy will pay for 100% of the costs of transporting donated fodder from within NSW up to a maximum of $5 per kilometre (plus GST) to a maximum eligible distance of 1,500 kilometres.

The Farm Innovation Fund provides low interest loans to helps farmers to:

  • Improve farm productivity by reducing risks and improve efficiencies by building fodder and grain storage facilities, sheds, fencing, roadworks and solar power conversions.
  • Manage adverse seasonal conditions by improving water efficiencies with irrigation systems, cap and piping of bores, new dams, install water tanks and desilting of ground tanks.
  • Ensure long term sustainability by increasing the viability of a farm business and improve pasture and soil health, plant trees for shade and wildlife corridors, eradicate weeds, flood proof property and fence riverbanks.

Matana’s focus is on improving the welfare and wellbeing of young people from severely disadvantaged or marginalised backgrounds, or whose concerns and issues are not readily funded from other sources.

Recognising that disadvantage takes many forms, they prioritise projects and organisations that address the causes of youth disadvantage by:

  • Providing programs primarily targeting school retention and increased education achievement for students who are at risk of dropping out of school or who have already dropped out. The focus is on early identification, customised learning and mentoring.
  • Providing programs that target employment skills development, employment and career pathways and transitions into employment.
  • Providing programs that target social and community connectedness, personal significance and social and emotional outcomes.
  • Providing services in geographical areas across Australia where funding is difficult to source.

There is no minimum or maximum amount, but as a guide, grants are usually in the range of $1,000 to $10,000.

Each year through ClubGRANTS, clubs across NSW provide support to tens of thousands of local community organisations, sporting groups, and charities that make a difference in their local area. With more than $1 billion in funding provided since the program’s inception, including a record $100 million in 2014, ClubGRANTS is without doubt one of the largest and most effective grants programs in Australia.

All funding is processed locally and community groups can contact their local clubs easily and at any time for information and advice. ClubGRANTS is also flexible, allowing clubs to provide support quickly, efficiently, and often as soon as a need emerges.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a not-for-profit organisation and provide the following project and/or services: community welfare or social services, community development, community health services or employment assistance activities. You are also eligible if you or your organisation is involved in community or professional sport.

Category 1 funding is allocated on the basis of local government areas, and Local Committees set their own deadlines, which vary from area to area. Opening and closing dates are available on Committee Search listings.

Clubs allocate Category 2 funding and while some clubs set deadlines, most accept and consider Category 2 applications year-round. Category 2 applicants should contact the individual clubs for more information.
