ClosedGrant Closed: 5th of December 2022 Value: $5,000 to $75,000 Run By: Australian Government Department of Defence Further Information: https://www.grants.gov.au/Go/Show?GoUuid=5a063652-fa65-42e3-9eb6-545be1f1cff0

The Family Support Funding Program (FSFP) aims to build the capacity of individuals, families and communities to contribute to the local community in which they are posted through the theme of ‘The Power of Connection’. An FSFP Grant supports not-for-profit organisations across Australia that can make a positive difference in their local community. The program has always supported local connection, awarding grants that have benefited thousands of Defence families in their local communities since 1989.

Being part of a community and feeling a sense of belonging is more important than ever before. Feeling connected plays a vital role to building and enhancing emotional and social wellbeing and we want to support the organisations that are helping make this happen. By supporting projects with positive outcomes leads to a strengthened, inclusive and socially
connected Defence community as it manages the military way of life. Projects approved under the theme of ‘The Power of Connection’ should provide a range of high-quality and cost-effective services that link Defence families into the local community, with the potential to develop new services in response to their changing community needs.

Successful recipients of an FSFP grant can include but not limited to running events, programs and services, be a base for outreach and referral point for families to other local services, have strong working relationships with other local community services and deliver projects to help Defence communities connect and thrive.

The FSFP provides single and multi-year grants. Multi-year grants are available in two-year funding terms. Single-year grants are the default arrangement; organisations wishing to be considered for multi-year funding must have demonstrated track record of strong governance and been a previous FSFP recipient.
