ClosedGrant Closed: 3rd of April 2022 Value: $300 to $2,500 Run By: Essential Energy Further Information: https://www.essentialenergy.com.au/choices

Essential Energy’s Community Choices program provides an opportunity for Essential Energy customers to nominate and vote for eligible community groups, community halls, not-for-profit and registered charities in the Essential Energy network area that could benefit from a funding boost. Funding is awarded based on a people’s choice style voting system, with funds awarded to groups based on the number of votes received.

All Northern Inland LGA's are in the Essential Energy newtwork area. For a map of areas included, visit: www.essentialenergy.com.au/about-us/our-network-area

Community Halls are included for the first time this year, with a dedicated stream of funding available to eligible Community Halls in the Essential Energy network area.

The 2022 Community Choices program will have three categories of funding:

  • Standard zone funding – five funding allocations in each of the 20 zones ranging from $1,100 to $2,500
  • Small communities funding – two $500 funding allocations for each of the 20 zones for groups who reside in a community with less than 10,000 people
  • Community Hall funding – eight $300 funding allocations for each of the 20 zones for Community Halls
