This grant opportunity aims to distribute funding to meet the unique needs of Australians with disability under the age of 65, their families, carers and kin.
Supports funded under the grant opportunity may provide benefit to children aged 0-8 and their families where this forms part of a broader service offer or scope.
Successful organisations will be funded to deliver activities that strengthen support networks, including peer support networks, empower people with disability, and foster meaningful connections across diverse communities.
This grant opportunity will be split into three (3) activity streams:
- Stream 1: Individual and Family Capacity Building,
- Stream 2: Community Capacity Building,
- Stream 3: Information, Advice and Referral.
Applicants may apply for more than one (1) stream (although this is not a requirement) and will need to complete a separate application for each stream being applied for.
To be eligible you must be one (1) of the following entity types:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006
- Company
- Corporate Commonwealth Entity
- Non-Corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority
- Corporate State or Territory Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
- Local Government
- Cooperative
- Incorporated Association
- Statutory Entity
- Partnership
If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must have an eligible entity type as listed above.
Applications from consortia are acceptable, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above. Only the lead organisation can submit the application form and enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth.
Eligible organisations can form a consortium with ineligible organisations, with the exception of those organisations deemed ineligible because they are:
- Included on the National Redress Scheme’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’,
- Included on the non-compliant organisations list on the Workplace Gender Equality Agency website,
- Included on the NDIS Commission’s website for compliance action, and/or
- Subject to a banning order that is in force under section 73ZN of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013
