Financial Wellbeing and Capability Activity – Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability

The Australian Government is inviting organisations to apply in an open competitive grant process to deliver services under the Families and Communities Program – Financial Wellbeing and Capability (FWC) Activity – Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability across Australia from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2030.

The Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability services contribute to FWC Activity outcomes by helping eligible people to address their financial problems, make informed choices and build longer-term financial capability. 

Funding will be available for the following:

  • Commonwealth Financial Counselling services to provide financial counselling to help eligible people address their financial problems through the provision of information, advocacy and/or negotiation. 
  • Financial capability services to help eligible people to build longer-term financial skills, knowledge and capabilities. This can include one-on-one, group or community education sessions and workshops on budgeting, banking, money management and basic financial concepts such as taxation and superannuation.

To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:

  • Company 
  • Cooperative
  • Corporate Commonwealth Entity
  • Corporate State or Territory Entity 
  • Incorporated Association
  • Indigenous Corporation 
  • Local Government 
  • Non-corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority 
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Entity 
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
  • Partnership 
  • Statutory Entity. 

If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust , the Trustee must be one of the eligible entity types listed above.
