Front Line Innovation Grants

ClosedGrant Closed: 30th of September 2024 - 5:00 pm Run By: NSW Coal Services Health and Safety Trust Further Information: https://www.coalservices.com.au/about-us/health-and-safety-trust/applying-for-a-grant/

Front Line Innovation grants are for short-term (3-12 month projects), ideal for applicants in the ‘Inspiration’ or ‘Ideation’ phases of Human Centered Design.

The strategic approach for the years 2024-2025 is to fund projects that address significant medical and other issues that affect the health and safety of coal industry workers and local communities.

Priorities include:

  • Illnesses caused by dust and other airborne contaminants
  • Mental health
  • Obesity
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Serious injury causal factors
  • Fatigue

They will also accept and consider grant applications that address other significant health and safety issues in the coal industry if the proposal makes a strong case for their importance.

Eligability:

Applications are sought from a broad spectrum of applicants dedicated to enhancing health and safety in the coal mining sector, from non-profits and academics to miners and community advocates. Whether you’re an innovator with a safety
solution or an individual with a promising concept, we support a variety of perspectives in driving progress in workplace safety.

Funding available:

$100,000 is allocated annually for Front Line Innovation Grants (which could be a combination of various amounts across the grant rounds for any given year). Each application is assessed individually and dependent on its potential impact on the improvement of health and safety within the NSW and Australian Coal Industry.
