Rebuilding Futures is a responsive disaster preparedness and recovery grant program. It is activated from time to time to support remote, rural and regional communities impacted by extreme weather events. The program provides grants for local not-for-profit community organisations to undertake community-identified and community-led recovery activities that can strengthen resilience and enable projects for building back better to reduce the impact of future disasters on community wellbeing and physical infrastructure.

The NAB Foundation Community Grants program provides funding of up to $25,000 for local projects that help communities withstand and recover from natural disasters.

They award $1.2 million in Community Grants each year across two grant rounds, including $200,000 available in Impact Grants for projects with big potential. These Impact Grants provide a further $25,000 to recipients to maximise the impact they have on their communities.

NAB Foundation Community Grants are open to:

• Charities that are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for Profits Commission (ACNC). 
• Social enterprises (not-for-profit and for-profit) or start-ups with social or environmental impact at the core of their business. 
• Groups or organisations (not-for-profit and for-profit) that hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have a charitable purpose. 
• Local government or government-funded facilities (such as a school or childcare centre) seeking funding for a program that furthers charitable purpose.

The Visions of Australia Program provides funding to support the development and touring of quality exhibitions around Australia by Australian arts and cultural organisations.

The objectives of the Visions of Australia Program are to:

• increase access for Australian audiences to exhibitions of quality Australian arts and cultural material, with a particular focus on touring to regional and remote Australia
• encourage partnerships between organisations such as museums and galleries, particularly collaboration across the collections sector, to form curatorial partnerships and where appropriate, access to mentoring and skills transfer opportunities.

Program funding is delivered through two streams:

• Development: for the costs of planning and producing an exhibition to tour. This includes research and design
• Touring: for the costs to produce the exhibition and the costs to transport, install and dismantle the exhibition as well as deliver public programs.

The Program delivers two funding rounds each year usually opening in February and September. The Minister for the Arts (or his delegate) approves funding under the Program Guidelines based on an assessment by the Department and independent assessors.

To be eligible you must:

• be an Australian incorporated organisation
• have as your principal purpose the arts and/or cultural heritage (usually defined in the organisation’s Constitution or Articles of Association, and reflected in the Annual Report and Business Plans)
• have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
• be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by the Australian Tax Office
• not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Commonwealth funding.

Unincorporated groups with an arts or cultural heritage purpose may seek funding but must be auspiced by an organisation that meets the above criteria and applies on their behalf. Individual business units and entities of local government or state government authorities with an arts or cultural heritage purpose (such as art galleries, museums or performing arts centres) are eligible to apply.

To be eligible for funding, any proposed tour must include at least three venues located outside of the applicant’s state or territory, with consecutive exhibition dates. Tours originating in metropolitan areas may include metropolitan venues but projects should include at least one regional/remote venue.

Tour applications must include venue confirmation forms from each venue. Development applications must include expressions of interest forms from each venue.

The Regional NSW Strategic Partnership Program aims to establish partnerships that strengthen the arts, culture and creative industries in regional NSW through programs for the following focus areas:

• skills development
• organisational capacity building
• audience development
• development of partnerships
• investment sourcing
• creative activation of spaces.

Through partnerships and delivery of targeted programs, the Program will address gaps in the above focus areas for regional NSW creative organisations and workers.

The intended long-term outcomes of the Program are:

• A more connected sector in regional NSW through partnerships
• Development of artists and creative workers’ practices in regional NSW
• Improved or new income streams for organisations
• Increased capacity of organisations to retain staff, deliver impactful programs and enhance community engagement.

The FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grant program helps communities act on issues of current concern for young Australians, as identified by youth at the annual Heywire Youth Summit in Canberra.

The Heywire Youth Summit provides an opportunity for young people from across Australia to collectively identify issues that have impacted them growing up in remote, rural and regional Australia.

The Heywire Youth Innovation Grants provide up to $10,000 for communities to act on these issues by developing local projects that respond to these issues.

Through these grants, this program aims to:

• Make remote, rural, and regional Australia a better place to grow up for young Australians;
• Put young people at the centre of decision making about issues affecting them within their community;
• Strengthen young people’s connections to their community, by providing an avenue for organisations to engage well with youth.

Essential Grants empowers regional communities across their network area to “spark change” and deliver initiatives that create meaningful social impact, accelerate the transition to a sustainable future, and strengthen climate resilience.

In 2026 Essential Grants will continue with a strong focus on sustainability and resilience. The program aims to:

1. Advance energy transition and climate resilience: Enable community organisations and not-for profits in the Essential Energy footprint to deliver initiatives that align with the Program Focus Areas: Energy transition; and sustainability and climate adaptation.
2. Deliver social impact for vulnerable communities: Fund initiatives that provide clear benefits for vulnerable populations, help to improve wellbeing, reduce energy hardship, and enhance climate resilience.

The Essential Grants Program funds initiatives that align with one or both of the following focus areas:

Energy Transition

Projects that help communities shift towards a cleaner, more efficient energy use, such as:

• installations of solar panels, batteries and other technologies that enable greater use of renewable energy
• upgrades that improve energy efficiency and/or reduce energy consumption such as insulation, smart thermostats, energy efficient appliances, and energy audits
• programs that build energy literacy to empower communities to make informed energy choices
• low emissions transport solutions for communal use or use by vulnerable communities, such as EV charging infrastructure, e-bikes or community transport powered by renewables
• initiatives that promote fair access to clean energy technologies and address energy poverty in regional and remote communities.

Sustainability and Climate Adaptation

Projects that strengthen climate resilience and reduce environmental impacts, such as:

• projects that help organisations and communities prepare for and respond to climate-related events (e.g. bushfires, floods, heatwaves)
• projects that integrate sustainable materials, reduce waste or promote reuse and recycling.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants are eligible for the program if they:

• are located in Essential Energy’s network area and provide support to communities within the network area; and
• are a charity, not-for-profit/non-profit organisation, Non-Governmental Organisation or community group/event; and
• are undertaking activities, programs, projects or events will benefit the community and align with initiatives that help communities shift towards a cleaner, more efficient energy use, and/or strengthen climate resilience and reduce environmental impacts.

A total of $5 million will be available over 2025-26 for the Regional and Remote Airport Support Program. The program will provide financial relief to operators of regional and remote airports that were owed money by the Rex Airlines regional business when it entered voluntary administration.

This includes:

• Regional Express Holdings Limited (ACN 099 547 270)
• Regional Express Pty Ltd (ACN 101 325 642)
• Rex Investment Holdings Pty Ltd (ACN 101 317 677).

The intended outcomes of the program are to:

• support critical aviation services to connect remote and regional communities across Australia
• support local governments in regional and remote areas to maintain essential services.

You can apply if you:

• have an Australian business number (ABN)
• operate a regional or remote airport as defined in the ACCC Domestic Airline Competition Report August 2025 (refer to the Airport and Remoteness tab in the Appendix)
• are an unsecured creditor of the Rex Airlines regional business
• can meet the additional eligibility requirements listed in 4.2 of the grant opportunity guidelines.

and are one of the following entities:

• an entity, incorporated in Australia
• an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth)
• an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust
• an Australian local government agency or body as defined in Section 13 of the grant opportunity guidelines.

You can’t apply if you are:

• any organisation not included in section 4.1 of the grant opportunity guidelines
• an organisation included on the National Redress Scheme’s list of Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme
• an employer of 100 or more employees that has not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act (2012)
• an eligible entity in section 4.1 of the grant opportunity guidelines applying wholly or partly on behalf of a subcontractor or airport business with unsecured debt owed by the Rex Airlines regional business.

The Australian Government is inviting eligible organisations to apply for grant funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program (STS program).

The objective of the STS Program is to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel who served in wars, conflicts and peace operations, including National Service personnel, and their families.

The intended outcome of the STS Program is to provide funding for projects and activities that:

• promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service, and the role of service personnel
• preserve, add to the sum of knowledge on, or provide access to information about Australia’s wartime heritage.

1. Community Grants

Grants up to $10,000 are available for projects and activities that:

• are focused on the local community
• commemorate the service and sacrifice of local community members
• are primarily accessed by the local community.

2. Major Grants

Grants between $10,001 and $150,000 are available for major commemorative projects and activities that are significant from a national, state, territory and/or broader regional perspective. These projects may include the construction of new war or peace memorials where none currently exist, as well as additions to existing memorials.

If your project relates to restoring or changing a memorial or other commemorative artefact, there may be heritage and conservation considerations.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, you must be one of the following entity types:

• Cooperative
• Corporate State or Territory Entity
• Incorporated Association
• Indigenous Corporation
• Local Government

The Preventing Tech-based Abuse of Women Grants Program aims to improve the safety of Australian women and their children through the prevention of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. The program forms part of the Government’s commitment to the aims and objectives of the National Plan to end violence against women and children 2022-32.

A total of $10 million in grant funding will be available from 2023 to 2028. Grants of between $80,000 and $400,000 will be awarded over a minimum of three open, competitive processes.

Funds available under Round 3:

 At least $3.5 million in grant funding is available

The minimum grant amount is $80,000 (GST exclusive)

The maximum grant amount is $400,000 (GST exclusive) 

First Nations Projects - Priority Funding

Up to $600,000 of the total funding for the round is available to organisations with a commitment to delivering projects with and for communities that focus on the prevention of tech-based abuse of First Nations women.

Who should apply?

eSafety is seeking applications to fund projects that are focused on the prevention of online harms and enhanced safety for women and children. This may include projects that, for example, aim to change community attitudes and behaviours, focus on people who perpetrate technology-facilitated abuse, or that seek to protect and support women and children.

The objectives of the Preventing Tech-based Abuse of Women Grants Program are outlined in the Guidelines (see Grant Opportunity Documents).

To be eligible to apply for a grant under Round 3, all eligibility requirements specified in this section must be met. The applicant must:

a. have an Australian Business Number (ABN)

b. be registered for the purposes of GST

c. have a bank account with an Australian financial institution

d. be a legal entity, and

e. be a non-government organisation, not-for-profit or charitable organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission.

Eligibility for priority funding for First Nations focused projects:

To be eligible for priority funding as a First Nations Project, the applicant must (in addition to meeting the requirements specified above) be:

a. an Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisation (ACCO); or

b. an organisation that is primarily focused on achieving outcomes for First Nations communities; or

c. an organisation that is partnering with an organisation that meets a) or b), above.

Festivals Australia provides funding to support individual art projects in regional or remote locations. Eligible projects take place at festivals, or significant one-off community events such as a town celebration or opening of a new community resource. Festivals Australia will:

• provide access to a diverse range of engaging, innovative arts projects that grow audiences at festivals across regional and remote Australia,
• support partnerships and collaboration across the arts sector, and
• encourage community participation in arts projects at regional and remote festivals.

The program delivers two funding rounds each year usually opening in February and September. The Minister for the Arts (or their delegate) approves funding under the Program Guidelines.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

• be an Australian incorporated organisation*,
• have an active Australian Business Number (ABN),
• be registered for the purposes of GST, if required by the Australian Taxation Office, and
• not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Australian Government funding.

The grant opportunity aims to deliver health workforce training to ensure inclusive, culturally safe healthcare for LGBTIQA+ people in Australia, and a network of accredited primary care providers. The anticipated approach for LGBTIQA+ affirming care needs to be suitable for a broad range of population intersectional sub-groups.

Applications from consortia are strongly encouraged, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth (see section 7.2 of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines).

The objectives of the grant opportunity are:

• to improve cultural safety in primary care settings for LGBTIQA+ individuals through workforce training that is evidence-based and patient-centred, guided by evidence-based best practice and the Action Plan.
• to reduce financial barriers for primary care providers and organisations to develop skills and be formally recognised as competent in providing health care that is safe and appropriate for LGBTIQA+ clients.
• for LGBTIQA+ people to be able to readily identify and access safe and inclusive mainstream primary care services.
• to increase prevention and early intervention care episodes and improve overall health and wellbeing for LGBTIQA+ people.
• to establish a financially sustainable plan for ongoing provision of the program beyond the cessation of this grant opportunity.

To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:

• Company

• Indigenous Corporation (registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006)
• Incorporated Association
• Corporate State or Territory Entity

If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must have an eligible entity type as listed above.

Applications from consortia are strongly encouraged, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above. Only the lead organisation can submit the application form and enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth.

The grants program provides financial support to organisations and projects that contribute to the development and promotion of the communities in which we live and work.

There are two types of activities that GrainCorp’s Grants program funds:

1. Community-related programs & activities (Maximum funding limit: $20,000)
2. Community infrastructure projects (Maximum funding limit: $20,000)

To be eligible for a grant, the organisation or project must:

• Be based within a GrainCorp operational region or region linked to grain growing activities;
• Be intended to have a positive effect on local communities in rural and regional areas;
• Demonstrate a direct connection with community development; and
• Align with at least one of GrainCorp’s Community Foundation Pillars.

GrainCorp opens two rounds every year for grant funding applications:

• 1 – 28 February
• 1 – 31 July

Remote Sporting Schools launches nationally in 2026, building on a successful pilot to support eligible remote and very remote schools (Prep - Year 12) across Australia. The program is designed to reduce barriers, increase flexibility, and create more opportunities for students to participate in sport and physical activity.

From 2026, Sporting Schools grants for schools located in remote Australia will become annual grants (rather than a per-term cycle). Remote Sporting Schools is designed to better support the unique circumstances of schools in remote areas by providing:

• Year-round flexibility - plan and book activities across the full school year (not just term by term)
• Broader sports options - you can choose to deliver a Sporting Schools partner sport or another sport or physical activity that better suits your school
• More control spending your grant - grants up to $10,000 per school annually with more eligible grant expenses.
