Region urged to see Inverell on Display

The 4th ‘Inverell on Display’ will be staged on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March. Expansion of the community expo has led to a move from the racecourse to Inverell Rugby Park this year. Admission is free.

Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI) Executive Officer, Nathan Axelsson is encouraging residents of the region to support this upcoming showcase of the Inverell business sector. “Collaborative community events deliver vital economic and social developmental outcomes,” he said. “We’d like to see greater support for events like Inverell on Display from throughout Northern Inland NSW. You can have a great time, virtually in your own backyard.”

Inverell Shire Council is behind the Inverell on Display expo. The Council’s objective is to illustrate and promote the products, services, expertise, knowledge and talents of the Inverell business community. “When a community comes together in this way, it fosters pride and local identity. Inverell is a gem of a town. It is picturesque, rich in culture and forward-focused. Inverell’s vibrant business sector on display represents an opportunity that the rest of the region should take advantage of,” Mr. Axelsson said.

RDANI Food and Wine Project Officer, Kim-Trieste Hastings said it is great to see that among the aspects of Inverell on Display, will be the boutique quality local produce. “A designated food and wine section is entirely appropriate for Inverell on Display,” she said. “The region’s food and wine industry has come a long way in recent years. RDANI has facilitated a number of regional initiatives with funding assistance from Industry and Investment NSW, which have succeeded in stimulating industry collaborations towards regional promotion and branding. From fine wines, olives and herbs to quality meats, Inverell area producers have long been proactively involved in regional projects. This is a chance to see or even taste their latest products and show interest and backing for what they are doing, not only for their business, but for their community and region.”

There will also be an eco-village section among the full spectrum of businesses at the expo. Inverell on Display promises to be an expo of interest to young and old, catering for a broad range of lifestyle, work and recreational pursuits.

Celebrity guest for the expo will be Rob Palmer; the DIY and trade tips presenter from top rating Australian lifestyle program, ‘Better Homes and Gardens’. Rob was the last winner of Dancing with the Stars and is an advocate for Diabetes Australia. Wearing his better recognised handyman hat, Rob will participate in live demonstration and entertaining activities throughout the Inverell on Display weekend.
