Welcome to our Community Funding Opportunities and Awards Program Newsletter where you will find details of grant and funding programs that are available for the Northern Inland Region for community based projects and social enterprises.

Due to the number of grants that are available, we send two funding opportunities newsletters a month; one for Business and Infrastructure and another for Community Projects and Award Programs. Coronavirus (COVID-19), Drought and Bushfire Assistance

To help businesses and individuals affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) access the available assistance we have created a dedicated Coronavirus Assistance page on our website. This page will be updated as details become available on the recently announced economic stimulus packages from the Australian and NSW Governments.

There is also wide range of assistance available for individuals, businesses and communities that have been affected by the ongoing drought and the recent bushfires. To help you access this support, we have created dedicated Drought Assistance and  Bushfire Assistance pages on our website which are being updated reguarly.

Community Grants Fund

Funding for community focussed projects, events and programs that directly benefit the Narrabri Shire community and address the key themes identified within Council’s Strategic Plans.

Applicants may be from outside the Shire however all grant funding must be used for events/programs/projects within Narrabri Shire Local Government Area.

Higher priority will be given to projects that demonstrate the following project that:

  • demonstrate a partnership between community groups and/or organisations
  • have a high level of communitysupport
  • show a benefit to a broad cross section of the Narrabri Shire community
  • prove to be sustainable after the period of funding has ended.

Community Building Partnership

The NSW Government is investing in infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes while promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.

In 2020, there is a maximum of $300,000 to allocate in each electorate for incorporated not-for-proft community organisations and local councils.

Eligible projects will be assessed against four equally weighted program criteria:

  • Enhancing facilities — the project develops a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community through the enhancement or construction of community infrastructure.
  • Meeting community needs — the project supports activities and services needed by local communities.
  • Increasing community participation — the project encourages participation in activities or services needed by a broad section of the  community.
  • The organisation’s capacity — the applicant has the capacity to deliver the project on time and within scope.

The Resilient Australia Awards celebrate initiatives that build whole of community resilience to disasters and emergencies around Australia, as well as images capturing resilience in action. The awards recognise collaboration and innovative thinking across all sectors.

Australian Training Awards
