Indigenous Apprenticeships Program

Since its inception, the Indigenous Apprenticeships Program (IAP) has given over 2100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people opportunities to start a career in the Australian Public Service (APS).
It's a great way for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make a difference in the lives of Australians, and is open to a diverse range of people, including people leaving school, finishing study or looking for a new career.
Participants gain valuable skills and experience throughout the program, working alongside dedicated people and teams.
This program consists of:
- Full-time work and study: Gain valuable experience while working and studying towards a formal qualification.
- Variety of roles: Work in different positions depending on your placement agency.
- Training and development: Access structured training to help you build your skills.
- Support throughout: Benefit from support provided by your Indigenous mentor, buddy, and study resources to ensure your success.
Applications for 2025 are now open, and close on Sunday 2nd of March 2025.
At Home Care Grants - 2025 - Round 1

Youngcare’s At Home Care Grants (AHCG) provide funding for equipment, home modifications and essential support that is unable to be funded through other means (eg. NDIS). This funding is to both enhance the quality of life for young people with high physical care needs and assist them to remain living in their own home with loved ones.
The grants provide one-off funding of up to $10,000 to help those aged 16-65 with high physical care needs who are living at home, and are at risk of entering inappropriate housing.
Building Early Learning Places Program

The Building Early Learning Places Program aims to help not-for-profit providers in the early childhood education and care sector create more spaces for children aged 0 to 6 for communities with the greatest immediate need.
The program’s overarching objectives are to:
- Support the accessibility and affordability of ECEC, by assisting not-for-profit community preschools and long day care centres to deliver additional ECEC places through capital works.
- Increase the number of ECEC places through these capital works projects, leading to accessible, inclusive, and culturally safe environments that attract enrolments from children with disability, children with additional needs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and culturally and linguistically diverse children.
- Generate insights, evidence and lessons learned to guide future capital initiatives that may be delivered by the Fund Board in the years to come.
Tertiary Access Payment

The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one off payment of up to $5,000 to help eligible students from a regional or remote area who have completed year 12 or equivalent and are moving away from home to study at a tertiary education provider.
If you finished school in 2024 and meet the eligibility rules, you can claim TAP at any time between 1 January and 31 December 2025. If it’s been more than 12 months since you finished school, then you can’t claim right now as they are updating their system to handle these claims, but they expect this to be available by mid to late June 2025.
