Welcome to our Community Funding Opportunities and Awards Program Newsletter where you will find details of grant and funding programs that are available for the Northern Inland Region for community and environmental projects, and individuals.

Due to the number of grants that are available, we send two funding opportunities newsletters a month; one for Business and Infrastructure and another for Community Projects and Award Programs. 2023 NAIDOC Local Grants

The 2023 NAIDOC Local Grants aims to assist with the cost of activities being held during NAIDOC Week 2023 (2 - 9 July) that celebrate First Nations’ histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions to our country and society. Activities should align with the 2023 National NAIDOC Week Theme For our Elders.

This grant opportunity provides funding to organisations to contribute to the costs of local and regional NAIDOC activities across Australia.

Activities funded under the NAIDOC Local Grants Program should ideally occur during National NAIDOC Week (2 - 9 July 2023) or sometime in July 2023. Any activities run outside this timeframe will be considered on a case-by-case basis. An extension may be provided if there are extenuating circumstances.

Both Indigenous and non-Indigenous legal entities may apply for 2023 NAIDOC Local Grants funding.


Return to Work Program - Phase 3

The Return to Work Program is for women who have been unemployed for one month or more and intend to return to work within 6 months.

As part of the program, one-off grants of up to $5,000 will be made available to eligible women to purchase approved goods and services such as:

  • education and training
  • support material for courses
  • work necessities such as specialist clothing, equipment, IT
  • transportation costs
  • childcare/respite

 

Tertiary Access Payment

The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one off payment of up to $5,000. It’s to help eligible students with the cost of moving to study. This is for study after you’ve finished year 12 or equivalent.To get the payment you need to meet some rules.

To get the payment you need to meet some rules. These include:

  • moving from a regional or remote area for tertiary study
  • starting tertiary study in the year after finishing year 12 or equivalent.

You can claim this payment in your first year of tertiary study only.
