Welcome to our Community Funding Opportunities and Awards Program Newsletter where you will find details of grant and funding programs that are available for the Northern Inland Region for community based projects and social enterprises.

Start Strong Capital Works Grants Program - Major Capital Fund - 2022-23

The Major Capital Fund supports the creation of additional preschool places through new builds, extensions and renovations of centre-based community preschools and long day care services running a preschool program in areas of need and demand across NSW.

The Major Capital Fund must contribute to the following objectives:

  • maximise the number of preschool places available for pre-school aged children to attend at least 600 hours per year or 15 hours per week of quality preschool education.
  • ensure the continued operation of the service to deliver preschool places throughout the ten-year compliance period.
  • support ongoing management of the service in line with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • where possible, leverage funds from sources external to the department, including private finance, charitable donations and grants from state and federal government agencies.

 

Strong and Resilient Communities Activity – Inclusive Communities Grants

The SARC Activity – Inclusive Communities Grants aim to support vulnerable and disadvantaged people on pathways to self-reliance and empowerment through local community-driven solutions that support them to participate socially and economically.

These grants will focus on supporting people in geographic areas of high socio-economic disadvantaged across all states and territories.communities by providing funding that supports:

  • the development of young people aged 12 to 18 years who are, or are at risk of, being disengaged, marginalised and having limited engagement with education/training
  • people with disabilities and/or mental health issues to participate in their community, and work towards becoming and/or remaining independent and engaged
  • vulnerable women who experience, or are at risk of, isolation or discrimination, to participate in their community and increase their sense of self agency and empowerment
  • people who are unemployed to address individual barriers to social and economic participation and employment by increasing their capacity for engagement with existing employment, community supports, and training services, as they work towards gaining meaningful employment.

 

Anzac Community Grants -2022

The Anzac Community Grants Program provides grants for projects that either promote appreciation and understanding of the service and sacrifice of military service personnel or support activities and services to enhance the wellbeing of the NSW veteran community.

Funding is only provided for projects that are yet to take place, and not for costs already incurred.

Grant categories:

  • Local community historical research and education - Projects that help inform and educate the wider community about the service and sacrifice of local veterans and their families, including research towards online or print publications.
  • Preservation or display of war memorabilia - Preservation and/or research materials, or display of war memorabilia, artefacts and/or research materials relevant to the local community.
  • Public commemorative events, arts and culture - Events that honour or mark military anniversaries and pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of NSW veterans.
  • Provide support to members of the NSW veteran community - Activities such as excursions, milestone reunions, and training and development to assist health and wellbeing.
