Welcome to our Business and Infrastructure Funding Opportunities Newsletter where you will find details of grant and funding programs that are available for the Northern Inland Region for businesses and infrastructure projects.

Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grants

The NSW Government are investing $20 million to assist eligible regional NSW destinations by co-funding the purchase and installation of EV chargers.

The grants will fund the following for up to 4 EV chargers per site:

  • 75% towards the cost of an eligible 7 kW and/or 22 kW electric vehicle charger(s) 
  • 75% towards the cost of installation (capped at $1,000 per charger) 
  • 50% towards a 2-year EV charger software subscription from the EV charger software list.

To be eligible, you must be:

  • located in an eligible regional NSW local government area (LGA) (All Northern Inland LGAs are eligible)
  • an approved destination type as listed on page 25 of the guidelines
  • have no more than one existing EV charger installed.
  • able to meet additional eligibility requirements for each site as outlined in the guidelines.

 

Stronger Country Communities Fund - Round 5

Funding is available for local community and sporting infrastructure, street beautification, projects enhancing accessibility and inclusion for people with disability, projects improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, and community programs and local events.

Projects must be for infrastructure or community programs that boost the wellbeing of regional areas through improved amenity and positive social outcomes. Community amenity projects must be for either:

  • construction of new, or upgrades to existing, local community infrastructure
  • construction of new, or upgrades to existing, local sporting infrastructure
  • capital works related to street beautification and other public places that promote the health, happiness and wellbeing of the community
  • delivering programs that benefit the local community and provide public benefit
  • infrastructure to assist the delivery of general community programs
  • infrastructure or community projects or programs which improve and promote accessibility and inclusion

 

Regional Tourism Activation Fund - Round 2

Value: $500,000 to $20 Million

The $150 million Regional Tourism Activation Fund - Round 2 supports the development of high impact tourism infrastructure projects that increase visitation, expenditure and extend length of stay for visitors to regional NSW.

Round 2 of the Regional Tourism Activation Fund is focused on accelerating the development of high impact tourism and events infrastructure that will increase the international appeal of destinations in regional NSW and boost the visitor economy through increased visitation and job creation. The Fund aims to support projects that are accessible and inclusive for everyone and ensure all visitors to regional NSW have unforgettable experiences that encourage repeat visitation.

Examples of eligible project types include:

Nature-based tourism

  • iconic walking and hiking trails
  • aquatic and coastal projects such as over-water walkways and major viewing platforms
  • adventure cycling such as mountain bike and BMX trails
  • adventure trails that cover land and water experiences

Arts, culture and events infrastructure

  • Aboriginal tourism experiences
  • major arts infrastructure
  • cultural experiences including history and heritage projects
  • major event and festival infrastructure
  • major conference centre facilities
