Welcome to our Business and Infrastructure Funding Opportunities Newsletter where you will find details of grant and funding programs that are available for the Northern Inland Region for businesses and infrastructure projects.

Due to the number of grants that are available, we send two funding opportunities newsletters a month; one for Business and Infrastructure and another for Community Projects and Award Programs. Coronavirus (COVID-19), Drought and Bushfire Assistance

To help businesses and individuals affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) access the available assistance we have created a dedicated Coronavirus Assistance page on our website. This page will be updated as details become available on the recently announced economic stimulus packages from the Australian and NSW Governments.

There is also wide range of assistance available for individuals, businesses and communities that have been affected by the ongoing drought and the recent bushfires. To help you access this support, we have created dedicated Drought Assistance and  Bushfire Assistance pages on our website which are being updated reguarly.

Coles Nurture Fund

Coles launched the Nurture Fund to help small and medium sized businesses innovate and grow.

Since it's establishment, they have offered more than $24 million in financial support to more than 60 Australian food and liquor producers.

From Australia’s first quinoa processing facility, to chickpea tofu, to home grown garlic and to Australian first prawn farming technology, the Coles Nurture Fund is helping Aussie producers bring their big ideas to life.

Small and medium sized businesses can apply for a grant of up to $500,000 to help them develop new market-leading products, technologies and processes.

 

Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects Stream
Closes: 5th of March 2021 - 5:00 pm
Value: $20,000 to $10 Million
Run By: Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports projects that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. The projects can be either construction of new infrastructure or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure. The Infrastructure Projects Stream only supports investment ready projects.

For most projects grant funding will be up to either 50% or 75% of your eligible project costs. Your location will determine the percentage of grant funding you can receive.

You may apply for a partial or full exemption to your contribution requirement if you can demonstrate that you are experiencing exceptional circumstances.

Your project will need to deliver economic and social benefits to a regional or remote community.

 

Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P)
Closes: 25th of March 2021 - 5:00 am
Value: $100,000 to $3 Million
Run By: Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources

This grant supports short-term (up to 3 years), industry-led collaborations between industry, researchers and the community. The program isa proven model for linking researchers with industry to focus on research and development towards use and commercialisation.

Projects must:

  • develop a product, service or process that will solve problems for industry and deliver real outcomes
  • benefit small to medium enterprises (SMEs)
  • include education and training activities.

Boosting Australia's Diesel Storage Program
Closes: 22nd of February 2021 - 5:00 am
Value: $6 Million to $33.3 Million

Matched funding to industry to construct new diesel storage that will result in an estimated 780ML of additional diesel storage being kept onshore.

Funding to test a range of different program designs to continue to expand and improve mobile coverage in regional and remote Australia

Rural, Regional and Other Special Needs Building Fund - Capital Funding

Funds new buildings, and the upgrade of existing buildings for residential care and special needs which, without the assistance of capital grants provided under the Fund, would otherwise not be available.

Coles Nurture Fund

Helps small and medium sized Australian producers innovate, grow and bring their big ideas to life

Provides funding to help Australian businesses and researchers collaborate with global partners.

1,000 Jobs Package Grant Funding
Closes: 30th of April 2021 or until 1000 allocations
Value: Up to $56,000 (GST exclusive) over two years
Run By: National Indigenous Australians Agency
Tranche Two provides a subsidy for new jobs for Community Development Program participants in remote Australia to support economic development.

Business Improvement Fund for Residential Aged Care

Supports providers of residential aged care experiencing financial difficulty, prioritising providers in regional, rural, and remote areas, and small to medium sized providers, with limited access to financial support, that are facing significant financial pressure.

Subsidises the salary, development and support costs of Aboriginal employees in public service agencies and local government authorities.

NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program

The program incentivises local councils to accelerate their assessments of development applications (DAs) and rezonings to create new development capacity and meet demand for housing and employment over the next decade.

Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program

A payment to employ additional young job seekers aged 16–35 years between 7 October 2020 and 6 October 2021.

Jobs Plus Program
