The Support at Home Thin Markets 2026-27 (Round 3) Grant Opportunity provides flexible funding to eligible Support at Home providers that deliver aged care services in thin markets.

This grant opportunity is the third funding round under the Support at Home Thin Markets Grant program. Providers that received funding in Round 1 and/or Round 2 may also apply in Round 3.

Providers that deliver rural and remote services in Modified Monash areas 3 to 7, or that deliver specialised services in any region, may be eligible to apply.

This grant opportunity has two streams:  

• Stream One: Rural, remote and specialised services
• Stream Two: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services. 

Providers may apply for either Stream One OR Stream Two. 

Eligibility:

To apply under either stream, eligible providers must meet ALL the following criteria:

• Be currently delivering Support at Home services to Support at Home participants at the time of application.
• Be registered under the Aged Care Act 2024 to deliver aged care services in Registration Category 4, including delivery of care management. 
• Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) that matches the entity’s registration under the Aged Care Act 2024 with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. 
• Be registered for GST purposes and hold an account with an Australian financial institution.
• Be one of the following entity types:
  • Indigenous Corporation (registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006) 
  • Company 
  • Corporate Commonwealth Entity 
  • Non-Corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority 
  • Corporate State or Territory Entity 
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Entity 
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority

You must also meet the additional eligibility requirements for the relevant Stream you are applying for, as outlined in Section 4.1.1 Stream One – Rural, Remote and Specialised Services or Section 4.1.2 Stream Two – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services. 

The Dementia Training Program (DTP), first established nationally in 2016, aims to strengthen the capability of Australia’s health and aged care workforce to provide high-quality, evidence-based dementia care. 

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to fund the delivery of accredited and non-accredited education, upskilling and professional development in dementia care. The delivery of DTP activities will reflect the emerging dementia, health and aged care landscape, including recent aged care reforms and increasing demand for services. 

DTP activities will:

• Be aligned with a National Dementia Training and Education Standards Framework.
• Expand experiential, immersive, peer mentoring and interprofessional training. 
• Adopt tailored approaches for diverse workforce groups and communities including for First Nations people, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people from regional, rural and remote locations.
• Build organisational capability and leadership for high quality dementia care, including sustainable practice change. 
• Deliver key service elements responding to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

There are two funding streams: Stream 1 aims to improve capability of health and aged care workers to provide high quality dementia care for non-Indigenous Australians, including people from diverse backgrounds. Stream 2 focuses on culturally safe, community-led dementia training for First Nations communities and workforces.

Applications from consortia are acceptable, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above. Only the lead organisation can submit the application form and enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth. Eligible organisations can form a consortium with ineligible organisations, with the exception of those organisations deemed ineligible because they are included on the National Redress Scheme’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’.

The REEF: Kids for the Reef School Excursion Rebate Program is the final part of the $10 million Reef Educational Experience Fund (REEF) and is complemented by the REEF: Tourism Operator Support and REEF: Tourism Operator Training programs and Tourism Tropical North Queensland international marketing and educational campaign.

The objective of the Program is to subsidise the cost for students in Year 4 to Year 12 across Australia to travel to and participate in eligible curriculum-related learning experiences within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Areas (the Reef).

Program outcomes

• increased student visitation to the Reef, smoothing seasonality and supporting local tourism operators and businesses
• increased awareness of and education about the Reef and the importance of sustainable tourism
• increased participation in activities which contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Reef.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

1. be an Australian Government (public) or non-government (private, independent, Catholic) school as defined under the Australian Education Act 2013 or a home educator registered with the relevant State or Territory authorities
2. have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) (if applicable)
3. be registered for the purposes of GST where required
4. be a legal entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement or contract
5. not be under insolvency administration
6. be applying on behalf of students in Year 4 to Year 12
7. be registered with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Reef Guardian School program.

For this grant opportunity, up to $180 million is available over two years (2026–27 to 2027–28).

The funding aims to strengthen the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) sector through improved infrastructure, including new and upgraded health clinics and associated housing for health professionals.

Two funding rounds totalling $210 million have already been delivered under the Closing the Gap Major Capital Works (MCW) Program (Round 1 and Round 2). The current round represents Round 3 of the Closing the Gap MCW Program.

To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:

Only Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) delivering primary healthcare are eligible to apply under this Grant Opportunity. 

To be eligible, organisations must: 

• be an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service
• currently deliver primary health care
• be listed at Appendix A. 

Eligible organisations listed at Appendix A within the Grant Opportunity Guidelines are also able to apply on behalf of a subsidiary organisation and/or auspiced organisation/s, provided the auspiced organisation is an ACCHS currently delivering primary health care, and eligible organisations may also have an auspicing organisation apply on their behalf.

These organisations will have a proven track record of delivering essential and culturally appropriate primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia, including in areas of high need. These organisations will also have established community relationships and are considered the most appropriate entities to receive infrastructure funding to expand or improve access to primary health care services in these areas. 

To be eligible under Stream 2, organisations must:

• Meet the eligibility criteria set out in Section 4.1.
• Have previously received funding under GO5504 or GO6522.

By investing in artists themselves - not just their outcomes - Practice in Community is grounded in the belief that artists are essential to social change and to the thriving of regional communities. It supports the deep, relational work that builds trust, belonging and long-term community impact.

Rather than funding short-term projects, Practice in Community values process over product, supporting the deep, slow, and relational work that builds genuine community connection and supports lasting impact. By embedding artists in everyday life, the program enables community-led projects that build connections, generate exchange, and create opportunities for local people to share stories, explore challenges, and imagine new futures together. The program will enable communities to take a creative and arts-led approach to responding to an identified local priority.

The program aims to:

• Increase community participation in the arts by creating exciting community-led projects.
• Provide vital support for artists by offering multi-year financial resources, mentoring, and professional development that sustains artistic practice and wellbeing.
• Invest in the sustainable development of the CACD sector through practice-led learning, shared knowledge, and stronger networks for artists embedded in community.
• Contribute to social impact outcomes through building connections, generating exchange, and creating opportunities in regional, rural, and remote communities.
• Measure and communicate this impact through a responsive and rigorous learning and evaluation approach.

To be eligible, applicants must be:

• an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• must hold, or be able to obtain, an ABN
• over 18 years old
• living outside a Major City of Australia, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Remoteness Structure – this means artists living in Inner Regional, Outer Regional, Remote, and Very Remote areas around Australia are eligible
• a resident within 100km of the community in which the proposed project will take place
• a professional, independent artist with at least five years of experience in Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) or community-engaged practice
• able to demonstrate an established history of working with communities through creative projects
• available to undertake the program over the relevant two-year term for their cohort, on a part-time basis

The NSW Seniors Festival Grant Program 2027 provides $200,000 in funding for community events and activities during the two-week festival period in March, which enables older community members to remain active, healthy and engaged.

The grant program encourages seniors in NSW to enjoy new experiences, continue learning, stay active and connected to their communities through:

• supporting a broad range of local community organisations
• supporting programs and activities in rural and regional NSW
• fostering partnerships with community groups and services
• providing programs and activities for diverse communities in NSW
• supporting projects that empower older people to stay connected
• assisting organisations to increase capacity of current programs and activities.

Applicants must be one of the following:

• Not for profit companies limited by guarantee, registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and/or are endorsed as deductible gift recipients (DGR) status.
• NSW associations or non-distributing co-operatives registered with NSW Fair Trading.
• Local Aboriginal Land Councils or Indigenous corporations registered with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations.
• NSW local councils operating under the Local Government Act 1993.
• Not-for-profit entities incorporated under an Act of Parliament.

The following are mandatory eligibility criteria:

• All applicants must have appropriate public liability insurance valued at a minimum of $10 million.
• All applicants must address the NSW National Redress Scheme sanctions.

If you're a sports or community group doing good things in Australia with a turnover of less than $100,000 and a $1000 donation could make the world of difference, your organisation is invited to apply.

Bulk Nutrients aims to support health, fitness and wellbeing, so if an organisation isn't sporting but supports wellbeing through access to literacy support, or who works with young people to smooth the transition into the workforce, a local group that is cleaning up waterways to improve a local area or many others, all of these are encouraged to apply.

The In a Good Place program gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of community-driven projects, services, activities or initiatives, which clearly and directly focus on strengthening mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable community members who are at risk of, or are experiencing, mental health issues.

The program supports community-based approaches that:

• are preventative or responsive in nature;
• focus on reducing mental health stigma and promote open discussions about mental health;
• encourage, support and enable people to seek help; and
• reduce social isolation by fostering social participation, inclusion and connection.

There are now two streams within the program:

Community wellbeing for projects focussing on mental health and wellbeing within remote, rural and regional communities; and

Farmers and farming communities for projects specifically supporting mental health and wellbeing of farmers and the communities they live in.

Backing the Future is a unique philanthropic initiative from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF) that recognises the power of passionate individuals to drive meaningful change for young people in rural and regional communities.

Each year the program offers up to 10 grants of $50,000 to individuals or groups of individuals in both QLD and NSW. These grants enable recipients to develop and test early-stage ideas that support young people aged 12-30 in one or more of the following areas:

• Access decent work;
• Care for the environment;
• Contribute to society; or
• Explore Christian faith and values.

The program was designed in response to feedback from VFFF’s current innovators and changemakers, who shared that the most difficult part of their impact journey was securing initial support. Backing the Future addresses this challenge by reducing the red tape often associated with grant funding and instead creating space for individuals to explore new ideas and discover what they can achieve.

ANZ Seeds of Renewal is a small grants program designed to help build vibrant and sustainable rural communities, to ensure the ongoing prosperity of regional Australia.

The program demonstrates ANZ’s ongoing commitment to shape a world where people and communities thrive. It is built on two key tenets:

• Vibrant communities are diverse and inclusive with strong social capital, where everyone can participate and build a better life; and

• Sustainable communities innovate, expand, and create opportunities that will deliver demonstrable medium to long-term economic benefit to the community, contributing to economic sustainability.

 Who can apply?

Applications are invited from not-for-profit, community based organisations (with an ABN or Incorporation Certificate), including social enterprises, who will deliver projects with a demonstrable medium to long term benefit to a regional community of 15,000 people or less.

Narrabri Shire Council’s Community Financial Assistance Grant supports the delivery of projects and activities that pursue our values of a connected, unique, and culturally rich community.  The Community Financial Assistance Grant aims to support and empower local clubs and not-for-profit community organisations to deliver activities, programs, and events that contribute to the economic, infrastructure, social connections, and vibrancy of Narrabri Shire.

The Community Financial Assistance Grant is designed to assist our community’s development, provide funding for capacity-building events, projects, programs, and activities that benefit the people and the Shire.

The financial support offered through Council’s Community Financial Assistance Grant seeks to achieve the following objectives:

• Increase the range of, and access to, recreational, social, cultural, and environmental activities, programs, and services to the people of Narrabri Shire.
• Encourage a sense of community pride that allow communities to promote their towns and villages through promotional activities.
• Reflect the community’s priorities and vision
• Provide for the inclusion and participation of all members of the community that enable vulnerable individuals and groups to participate in local activities and opportunities.
• Foster community partnerships and encourage cooperation between community groups, organisations, and Council to ensure that residents and organisations benefit from common resources.
• Promote Narrabri Shire as a vibrant, diverse place to live and visit.

The NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program 2026/27 Category 1 infrastructure stream aims to improve Rugby facilities in NSW, boost usage, ensure equitable access for under-represented groups, and enhance the experience for all participants and spectators.

Key objectives 

• Improve the quality, adaptability, environmental sustainability and/or climate resilience of Rugby facilities in NSW 
• Increase the utilisation of Rugby facilities in NSW 
• Support the equitable provision of, and access to, Rugby facilities to grow participation for under-represented groups
• Improve the Rugby experience for players, referees, coaches, administrators, and spectators 

Eligible applicants 

• Incorporated, not for profit rugby union clubs, associations, zones in NSW that are affiliated and have met compliance requirements of NSWRU and/or ACT&SNSWRU.
• Local Government Authorities in NSW.

Types of projects funded under this grant

Funds can be used for constructing new or upgrading existing Rugby facilities that demonstrate inclusive and accessible design and maximise community participation.  Each project must explain how it incorporates environmental sustainability features and/or climate resilience measures.  

Examples of eligible project types and project components include: 

• New or upgraded synthetic, hybrid or turf pitches, including improvements to pitch drainage, full resurfacing and irrigation. 
• New or improved field lighting.
• Upgraded or new amenity buildings such as gender-neutral change rooms, canteen/kiosk, club rooms, grandstands, seating, shade/shelter, or storage spaces that are universally designed.

Staged components of a larger facility development are eligible, providing the stage being applied for meets the Program eligibility criteria.

Acknowledging that many venues in NSW are used for multiple sports, facility development projects supported through the Program must demonstrate the primary benefit is to Rugby participants and stakeholders.

Investment will prioritise projects that target priority regions by addressing demand in vital areas for participation and population growth (priority regions) that address the key areas of priority identified in the Rugby National Facility Audit:

• Provide female friendly change rooms
• Improve the club room environment
• Adequate and sustainable lighting to provide safe environments and increase time to play
• Improve turf to provide improved safety, or drought and flood relief.

The NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program 2026/27 Category 2 participation stream aims to increase participation in Rugby with new or enhanced program/competition formats and increase opportunities for participation in Rugby for under-represented groups.

Key objectives

• Increase participation in Rugby with new or enhanced program/competition formats
• Increase opportunities for participation in Rugby for under-represented groups
• Priority will be given to innovative, program/competition formats that expand participation pathways and/or test alternative models of competition delivery beyond traditional programs.

Eligible applicants

• Incorporated, not for profit rugby union associations or zones in NSW that are affiliated and have met compliance requirements of NSWRU and/or ACT&SNSWRU.

Types of projects funded under this grant

Funds will be prioritised to projects that are:

• new or innovative
• for program/competition formats that expand participation base and/or
• pilot alternative models of competition delivery beyond traditional programs.

Programs put forward for funding should be holistic and demonstrate that consideration has been given to all the elements of the program necessary to result in the increased participation and other outcomes.

Where a new population group is targeted, there should be a clear explanation of the opportunity (e.g.: size of market, level of interest/demand), how the consultation and ongoing engagement with this group will occur and be sustained over the delivery timeframe to maximise sustainability of the program.

The proposed program should be discussed with the relevant contact at NSWRU and/or ACT&SNSWRU staff to ensure that its realistic, aligns with the Rugby Strategic priorities and feedback and support can be provided to strengthen the application.  Please note the relevant Rugby contact will not be involved in the assessment of the application.

Examples of population groups that may be targeted or modified programs/competitions that may be considered include:

• Women and girls’ participation (e.g. new girls’ competitions) 
• First Nations or Pasifika groups 
• Tri Tag Rugby Programs (adults)
• Modified programs/competitions for Under 85kg, over 35 aged etc
• Introductory programs for children and young people e.g. Get into Rugby programs or Tri Tag Rugby programs.
