Inclusive Employment Grants - 2024 Grant Opened: 10th of April 2024 Closes: 20th of May 2024 Value: Up to $50,000 Run By: Westpac Further Information: https://www.westpac.com.au/about-westpac/our-foundations/westpac-foundation/grants/inclusive-employment-grants/

The Inclusive Employment Grant (IEG) is a two-year grant of $50,000 to support community organisations
and social enterprises that:

  • create meaningful Award Wage Jobs and/or Training Opportunities for individuals and communities facing complex barriers to mainstream work or Self-Employment for people in our priority groups

AND

  • are currently earning revenue through trading of goods and services and want to strengthen their business model and build greater financial resilience and sustainability in delivering their social mission

Grant partners will also receive non-financial support including:

  • being matched with a Westpac Community Ambassador to help access a broad range of networking, leadership, business strategy, governance and financial capability programs
  • opportunities to build their capacity to measure and report on a range of key employment, capability and financial sustainability outcomes as part of an impact study on the IEG program

Westpac Foundation prioritises organisations that create Award Wage Jobs and/or Training Opportunities for people facing complex barriers to mainstream work or Self-Employment, that benefit one or more of the following listed priority groups:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including refugee and asylum seekers
  • Women experiencing disadvantage
  • Young people (greater than 15 years of age)
  • People that are homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • People who have experienced family and/or domestic violence
  • People living with a disability (including carers)
  • People living with a mental health issue (including carers)
  • People who have been incarcerated or have had contact with the criminal justice system
  • Long term unemployed and experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage
  • Living in rural and remote areas

Also prioritised are social enterprises and job-focused community organisations that are building skills and career pathways in jobs-rich growth sectors such as the technology care, and green economy.

Westpac Youth Impact Challenge Grant Closes: Ongoing Run By: Westpac Further Information: https://youthimpactchallenge.com.au/

The Westpac Youth Impact Challenge is a nationwide initiative open to all young people around Australia aged 7 to 21 years. The Challenge aims to help young Australians solve problems in their local communities.

To take part in the Challenge, participants must identify a local problem and brainstorm an innovative business or social change idea to solve it. Participants can choose to work individually, or in a group of up to 3.

Westpac Disaster Relief Package Grant Closes: Ongoing Value: Varies Run By: Westpac Further Information: https://www.westpac.com.au/about-westpac/sustainability/initiatives-for-you/customers-disaster-relief/

Westpac has announced that its Disaster Relief Package is available for customers who are suffering hardship as a result of the recent disasters. Westpac's Disaster Relief Packages aim to offer immediate practical help to assist customers to manage the impact of natural disasters on their finances.

Depending on the nature of disasters, our Disaster Relief Packages generally offer the following:

Home loan and insurance customers

  • Affected customers with Westpac home loans may apply to defer repayments for up to three months.
  • Affected Westpac customers with Home and Contents insurance can make a claim online 24/7
  • Affected Westpac customers with Car insurance can make a claim online 24/7

Credit cards, term deposits and personal loans

  • Affected credit card customers may apply to defer repayments to their card for up to 90 days.
  • Westpac will waive interest rate adjustments for affected customers wishing to withdraw term deposits.
  • Customers experiencing severe hardship may also be offered a halt on all interest accrual on unsecured credit products for a period of up to three months.

Business customers

  • Apply online for Disaster Relief Package
  • Affected businesses with existing loans can request loan restructuring without incurring the usual bank establishment fees.
  • Affected business customers with merchant facilities are eligible to receive assistance including monthly terminal access fee refunds for up to three months. Contact us to find out if you are eligible on 1800 029 749.
