The REEF: Kids for the Reef School Excursion Rebate Program is the final part of the $10 million Reef Educational Experience Fund (REEF) and is complemented by the REEF: Tourism Operator Support and REEF: Tourism Operator Training programs and Tourism Tropical North Queensland international marketing and educational campaign.

The objective of the Program is to subsidise the cost for students in Year 4 to Year 12 across Australia to travel to and participate in eligible curriculum-related learning experiences within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Areas (the Reef).

Program outcomes

• increased student visitation to the Reef, smoothing seasonality and supporting local tourism operators and businesses
• increased awareness of and education about the Reef and the importance of sustainable tourism
• increased participation in activities which contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Reef.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

1. be an Australian Government (public) or non-government (private, independent, Catholic) school as defined under the Australian Education Act 2013 or a home educator registered with the relevant State or Territory authorities
2. have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) (if applicable)
3. be registered for the purposes of GST where required
4. be a legal entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement or contract
5. not be under insolvency administration
6. be applying on behalf of students in Year 4 to Year 12
7. be registered with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Reef Guardian School program.

The Landing Pads program helps tech scaleups:

• make informed decisions about international expansion
• develop and validate market-entry plans
• connect with opportunities, customers, partners and funding to grow sales internationally
• raise brand profile – including at iconic global trade shows.

The program provides tailored advice and in-market experiences. It is delivered virtually and in-market. In-market programs are often timed to coincide with events such as trade shows. Local partners are sometimes used to provide additional expertise.

To apply for the Landing Pads program, your business should:

• have an existing product with customers and/or partners
• have the funding available to expand internationally, including at least 12 months of runway
• be able to communicate your objectives and vision for international growth
• have reasons to expand to a market with Landing Pad services. This includes existing sales, leads or a market opportunity.
