When fishing in NSW waters, both freshwater and saltwater, recreational fishers are required to pay the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee. All revenue raised by the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee is placed into the Recreational Fishing Trusts. There are two Trusts - one for saltwater and one for freshwater. Funds from the Trusts are used to deliver a wide range of projects and programs to boost recreational fishing opportunities in NSW.

The objective is to deliver projects using funds from the Trusts to boost recreational fishing opportunities in NSW. Projects in the current funding round are required to fall within the following grant platforms:

• fishing access and facilities
• recreational fishing enhancement
• recreational fishing education
• research on fish and recreational fishing
• aquatic habitat rehabilitation
• enforcement of fishing rules (NSW Government only)
• licence fee payment system and Trust management (NSW Government only)

Goals

• Implement innovative projects to boost recreational fishing opportunities.
• Promote recreational fishing as a healthy, outdoors activity for the whole family.
• Educate fishers to fish responsibly and safely.
• Promote the sustainable growth of recreational fishing.

The Net Zero Planning Grant round 2 is a unique opportunity for eligible NSW businesses to receive up to $25,000 in funding, to cover up to 50% of the cost to strategically plan for and progress their path to net zero. Advance your net zero planning, identify cost-saving opportunities, improve resilience, and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market with expert guidance and support.

The grant is provided in 2 stages:

Milestone 1: up to $2,000, covering up to 50% of the costs, to identify the key actions needed to advance your net zero journey. The action categories include: 

• Strategy (including climate-related risk and opportunity assessment)
• Governance
• People and capability
• Data
• Targets
• Net zero action planning
• Finance
• Stakeholder engagement
• Reporting. 

Milestone 2: up to $23,000, covering up to 50% of costs, to: 

• support detailed work in one or more of the action categories to address any gaps within your NSW operations. This may include developing a greenhouse gas inventory, a net zero action plan, climate risk and opportunity assessment, or other eligible net zero planning activities. This work must follow the key actions of the Net Zero Business Guide and align with nationally and/or internationally recognised frameworks. 
• use the net zero planning tool to reassess your organisation’s net zero progress at the end of Milestone 2, focusing on activities delivered under this milestone.

The Boating Infrastructure Maintenance Grants Program aims to improve the condition of existing boating infrastructure by returning it to its optimal operating condition and extending the benefits these assets provide to the community. The program focuses on essential maintenance and repair works that improve safety and accessibility for all boaters by addressing deterioration and wear and tear of public boating facilities. This program seeks to enhance the boating experience through better maintained assets.

Eligibility

Councils, government agencies, community groups, and private sector entities are eligible to apply, provided they own, manage, or operate public boating infrastructure that is accessible to the general boating public. Applicants must either own or have tenure over the assets, or provide clear evidence of landowner support and approval to carry out the proposed maintenance works.

Types of projects funded under this grant

The BIM Program funds maintenance and repair works to keep existing boating infrastructure at optimal operating condition, including boat ramps, recreational jetties and wharves, pontoons, pump-out facilities, slipways, boat ramp parking areas, and some supporting amenities that directly benefit boaters. Examples include removing marine growth from boat ramp surfaces, replacing deteriorating deck planks on jetties, fixing loose fittings like cleats, repairing potholes near boat ramps, and implementing preventative maintenance measures.

The program specifically excludes upgrades or capital improvements, repairs to assets that don't directly benefit boaters (like pedestrian boardwalks or toilet facilities), maintenance of severely deteriorated facilities without ongoing maintenance plans, and emergency repairs from specific weather events like storms or floods.

As part of the NSW Government's support package for the industry, eligible Wheelchair Accessible Taxi (WAT) owners can apply for a one-off fuel relief grant of $1,425 per eligible WAT vehicle. The grant recognises the higher operating costs associated with providing wheelchair accessible transport services and helps offset the impact of increased fuel prices. Applications will open from 14 September 2026 and close on 31 October 2026.

Eligibility

The WAT Fuel Relief Grant is available to owners of WAT vehicles who meet the following conditions. The conditions are also detailed in the grant application form available on the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) website through the supporting Smarty-Grants link.

To ensure fairness and consistency, all eligibility assessments will be determined based on the information available to TfNSW during the assessment period, irrespective of when an application is submitted.

Conditions include:

1. the vehicle registration type supports WAT services and is registered in NSW,
2. the operator is an authorised Taxi Service Provider (TSP) or an Affiliated TSP,
3. where a WAT vehicle owner has received a Prohibition Notice as issued by the Point-to-Point Commissioner within 12 months of the date a grant application being made, the required compliance actions must have been addressed before the application can be assessed,
4. Greater Sydney WAT vehicles should have at least logged into the Wheelchair Book & Ride service within the last 12 months at the time of application or have completed an M50 job through TTSS to be eligible for application,
5. WAT vehicles outside of Greater Sydney should have at least completed an M50 job through TTSS or have an email from their TSP or Affiliated TSP supporting the completion of WAT work to be eligible for application, and 
6. have no outstanding TTSS investigations at the time of application or have been suspended from performing M50 work through the TTSS program.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant offers women with an idea, cause, or vision the chance to create impact in rural and emerging industries and communities by providing opportunities for learning and development to bring their vision to life.

The Grant is open to all women involved in rural and emerging industries, and rural and regional businesses and communities. Women must be over the age of 18, and must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. No formal qualifications are required.

• Seven x $7,000 Acceleration Grants for learning and development are awarded each year.
• Applicants are required to have an idea, a cause or a vision in its early stages.
• The grants are awarded on merit, not per State/Territory.
• Successful AgriFutures Rural Women's Acceleration Grant applicants can apply for the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award in the future.

The Growing Football Fund is designed to support the coaches and players of tomorrow by creating more opportunities for women and girls in football. 

The primary objective of the Growing Football Community Grants Program is to provide tangible support to clubs and associations, with a focus on initiatives that look to attract or retain women and girls in football. 

The Community Grant Program will also aim to:

• provide quality experiences for new and returning football participants that encourage ongoing participation in football.

• support the education and development of community coaches that improve the skills and knowledge of coaches to provide quality football experiences.

• support clubs and associations in developing inclusive and safe environments to support the retention of women and girls at their club. 

The Latrobe Health Small Grants Program was created to support programs and initiatives that strengthen health outcomes for Latrobe Health members, and rural and regional Australians.

The aim of the program is to enhance health outcomes by funding initiatives that demonstrate impact across one or more of the following pillars:

• Health literacy: Improving the community’s understanding and knowledge of health.
• Health access: Enhancing access to health services and resources.
• Health equity: Reducing health disparities and promoting equality in health.
• Health affordability: Making health care more affordable for the community.

To be eligible for this grant your organisation must meet the following criteria:

• Initiative directly impacts rural or regional Australia.
• Have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN).
• Be a not-for-profit community group or charitable organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
• Have been operating for more than 12 months.

Expressions of Interest are open for ACCOs that are approved early learning providers or seeking to become approved providers under the 2026/27 ACCO-led ECEC Sector Growth Partnership Program.

Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations who are approved Early Learning providers or are seeking to become approved Early Learning providers are encouraged to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI). 

Successful applicants in this EOI will progress to the next round where they will be invited to provide a full application. Applicants will be required to complete this via a SmartyGrants application by the close date to be considered. Applicants may be required to provide evidence to support their application. Please see Program Guidelines for information of funding streams and eligibility. 

Eligibility

Only Aboriginal community-controlled organisations (ACCOs) are eligible for this program. An ACCO is an organisation: that delivers services, including land and resource management that builds the strength and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people and is:

• incorporated under relevant legislation and is not-for-profit
• controlled and operated by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
• connected to the community or communities in which it delivers services
• governed by a majority Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander governing body.  

ACCOs applying for Streams 1 or 2 must have early learning service approval or have applied for service-approval. 

ACCOs must be an approved early learning service provider, or have submitted an application for an early learning service approval that is yet to be determined by the NSW Early Learning Commission, to operate one or more of the following early learning services in New South Wales:

• centre-based day care (preschool)
• long day care
• outside school hours care
• family day care
• occasional care
• mobile preschool

ACCOs applying for Stream 3 must: 

Provide evidence that your organisation has consulted with the community to seek endorsement for the project. Be facing barriers to early learning provider approval which may include (but not limited to): land or premises access issues (e.g. resolving crown land complexities) regulatory compliance planning and project scoping Provide evidence that funding will be used to reduce barries for establishment of the project.

The Bupa Foundation Community Grants program funds and supports innovative, capable organisations working to prevent and control disease*. As a health promotion charity, we are committed to making a positive difference in communities by offering funding of $10,000, $25,000 and $50,000 for eligible organisations and charities conducting projects and initiatives designed to positively impact the communities where Bupa operates.

The key focus areas include:

*For the purposes of this program, diseases include any mental or physical ailment, disorder, defect or morbid condition, whether of sudden onset or gradual development and whether of genetic or other origin. Examples include asthma, cancer, clinical depression, diabetes, heart disease, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, post-traumatic stress disorder and viral infections.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award is Australia’s leading award empowering and celebrating the inclusive and courageous leadership of women involved in Australia’s rural and emerging industries, businesses, and communities, now and into the future.

The $15,000 grant is awarded to each State/ Territory Winner, providing the financial resources to support a project, business or program that will benefit rural industries, businesses and/or communities.

The grant can be used for formal training in leadership and business management; overseas study tours; establishing business plans or pilot programs; developing educational or promotional campaigns; networking at forums and conferences to grow your knowledge of industries and markets; developing training programs; testing information technology initiatives; developing or testing a new business concept or innovation; and publishing books.

The National Winner will be awarded an additional $20,000 grant and National Runner Up, an additional $15,000. These additional funds can be used for the above-mentioned activities, plus may also be used to assist in meeting national commitments such as speaking engagements as the National Winner or Runner Up.

The aim of the Creative Futures Fund is to invest in the creation and sharing of Australian stories through exceptional creative projects across all artforms that can clearly demonstrate ambition, audience reach and impact.  

Support through this Fund should enable projects to secure other significant partners and financial contributions from a range of sources.   

The Fund invests in projects through two streams, Development investment and Delivery investment. Both streams must tell Australian stories, and utilise Intellectual Property that is majority Australian owned.

Development: investments between $150,000 – $250,000

Development investment supports the creative development and testing of ambitious works of scale that will tell distinctly Australian stories.  

Projects in this stream must have a clear pathway towards a future public presentation for Australian audiences. They may also seek to reach international audiences. Applicants should show how they will develop the partnerships, resources and investment needed to support that future outcome.  

The aim of Development investment is to help works reach proof-of-concept stage and enable them to secure further investment, co-producing partners and presenting partners.  

Delivery: investments between $250,000 – $1,500,000

Delivery investment supports the presentation of new works, or the significant re-development and presentation of existing works to reach a new level of ambition and impact.  

Projects in this stream must be ready to deliver public outcomes, with the creative, production and presentation aspects of the work all well developed. 

Projects in this stream should use the checklists below to determine whether your project is a good fit for the Creative Futures Fund, and which stream is most appropriate. 

Transgrid’s Community Partnerships Program offers grants of up to $5,000  for initiatives that create a lasting, practical benefit in communities near Transgrid projects or existing infrastructure.

Since 2023, more than 470 organisations have received over $1.9 million in Transgrid grants for a range of initiatives spanning from community infrastructure, to workshops, along with inclusivity and accessibility projects.

Applications are accepted from community groups which fit the following criteria: not-for-profit organisations, sporting groups, mens/womens sheds, etc.

Building Digital Skills grants help organisations deliver free Be Connected digital literacy programs to older Australians in their community.

Building Digital Skills grants of up to $20,500 help organisations to support older Australians aged 50+ through free digital mentoring sessions. A range of resources and support materials are available to help organisations to deliver this program, including the learning courses available on the Be Connected learning site.

The Music Australia Export Development Fund is a bold partnership between the Australian Government and the Australian music industry – a matched funding initiative, designed to provide financial support to a diverse range of Australian artists.   

The program supports emerging, breakthrough and established acts and is available for Australian citizens or permanent residents who are practising contemporary music artists. This includes solo artists, instrumentalists, bands, ensembles, electronic artists, producers, songwriters and composers. 

The International Professional and Artistic Development fund (Category 2) supports international professional development activity with matched funding of $3,000 to $15,000.
