Protostars is a micro-grant program for young people with passion projects. The Blackbird Foundation offers young people under 25 from AU/NZ $1000 to work on their passion projects, as well as join a program and a community of next-gen worldbuilders, creatives, visionaries and innovators to create your passion projects, and raise each other’s ambitions.

The grants are available to anyone aged 18-25 based in Australia or Aotearoa and who are working on a passion project.

There are three intakes per year. In 2026 the application intake periods will be:

In 2026, the Audience Development Fund (ADF) has been broadened to accept applications from NSW public museums and Aboriginal Cultural centres, as well as galleries.

The ADF offers assistance in targeting and developing new audiences. It encourages organisations to create innovative public programs that engage with collections, visual arts practice, and communities. The fund is designed to support organisations to develop and trial new models for engaging audiences that will increase immediate and future attendance, access and participation.

Funds can be used for costs that support the development and implementation of public or educational programs, provide seed funding to trial new models for public engagement and/or build new partnerships for audience development.

Supercheap Auto Club Development Fund - 2026 - Round 1 Grant Closes: 22nd of June 2026 Value: Up to $1,500 Run By: Motorsport Australia Further Information: https://motorsport.org.au/clubs/developmentfund/

Motorsport Australia has established a funding allocation framework to support growth and development of 
Motorsport Australia Affiliated Car Clubs and Motorsport as a whole.

Funds will be allocated to projects that fit within one of the following funding areas:

  • Funding Area 1: Safety and Operational Equipment 
  • Funding Area 2: Volunteer Upskilling and Club Capacity Building
  • Funding Area 3: Participation Programs

Clubs are encouraged to undertake projects that support diversity, equity & inclusion in motorsport and supports the inclusion of population cohorts with existing low levels of participation in sport and physical activity. e.g. people with a disability, women and girls, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, Culturally and Racially Marginalised (CARM) communities, LGBTIQ+ and older people.

The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Prepare & Recover program supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters in the medium to long-term timeframe, generally one to ten years after the disaster.

The program recognise that remote, rural and regional communities across Australia are vulnerable to climate change and disasters, experience capacity challenges in responding to and preparing for disasters where often existing disadvantage is exacerbated.

Grants up to $25,000 are available for a broad range of initiatives that focus on community-led resilience building in recovery or preparedness to strengthen the capacity and  capability of local people and systems, especially to manage the impact of future disasters. 

Projects that focus on strengthening local inclusion, networks, communication, information sharing, self-organising systems, local decision making, resourcing, tools and support will be prioritised.

Demonstration of project need must reference a specific climate impact or event, either historic or likely to occur in the future.

FRRR’s Small & Vital program supports thriving, resilient, and sustainable remote, rural and regional communities across Australia. In particular, priority will be given to projects that:

  • Support communities to implement generational transition;
  • Invest in outback, remote, and less resourced communities;
  • Build capacity and resourcing for a just and equitable energy transition;

Screen NSW supports a diverse slate of culturally relevant, distinctive, high quality, original screen storytelling that resonates with local and global audiences and delivers exceptional cultural impact.

The purpose of funding is to maximise cultural and economic benefits to the state by supporting NSW screen practitioners to create new intellectual property that assists them to realise commercially sustainable businesses and grow the NSW screen sector.

The objectives of the Program are to fund exceptional quality, diverse and engaging fiction and non-fiction screen content that will:

  • Generate employment and economic activity for NSW
  • Make a contribution to Australian culture and storytelling, nationally and internationally
  • Grow the number and size of NSW production companies and provide increased opportunities for NSW key creatives

Wheelchair Accessible Taxi (WAT) Operational Support Grant - Round 2 Grant Closes: 31st of May 2026 Value: Up to $2,500 (per eligible vehicle) Run By: Transport for NSW Further Information: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/programs/point-to-point-transport/accessible-point-to-point-transport-initiatives

The WAT Operational Support Grant program for 2025/2026 will be delivered across two grant rounds with the program having three central objectives including to:

  1. provide a level of immediate financial relief for WAT vehicle operators,
  2. incentivise more WAT services to be offered, and
  3. understand the cost pressures faced by WAT vehicle owners in both purchasing and maintaining a WAT vehicle.

Who can apply for funding?

The second-round grants are available to owners of WAT vehicles who meet the following conditions. The conditions are also detailed in the grant application form available on the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) website through the supporting Smarty-Grants link. They include:

  • the vehicle registration type supports WAT services and is registered in NSW,
  • the operator is an authorised Taxi Service Provider (TSP) or an Affiliated TSP,
  • where a WAT vehicle owner has received a Prohibition Notice as issued by the Point to-Point Commissioner within 12 months of the date a grant application being made, the required compliance actions must have been addressed before the application can be assessed,
  • Greater Sydney WAT vehicles should have at least logged into the Wheelchair Book & Ride service within the last 12 months at the time of application or completed an M50 job through TTSS to be eligible for application,
  • WAT vehicles outside of Greater Sydney should have at least completed an M50 job through TTSS or have an email from their TSP or Affiliated TSP supporting the completion of WAT work to be eligible for application, and
  • have no outstanding TTSS investigations at the time of application or have been suspended from performing M50 work through the TTSS program.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP) supports national touring activity undertaken by Australian musicians performing original Australian contemporary music.

The tour must comprise of performances in at least three venues or locations outside of the performer’s hometown. Tours that include regional and remote destinations, or which assist performers residing in regional and remote areas to tour, are a priority for funding.

Grants are available from $5,000 to $50,000, depending on the number of tour venues or locations in regional or remote areas.

Who can apply

You may submit a maximum of two applications to each round of CMTP.

You may apply as an individual, on behalf of a group, or as an organisation, to tour live music performances within Australia.

Touring musicians must be performing original Australian contemporary music. Funding can be provided to performers, managers, agents, and music networks on behalf of professionals working in the Australian music industry. Applications must contain one tour only.

Cultural Access - Priority Area Projects for Individuals and Organisations - 2026 Grant Closes: 25th of May 2026 - 2:00 pm Value: $10,000 to $100,000 Run By: Create NSW Further Information: https://www.nsw.gov.au/grants-and-funding/2026-cultural-access-priority-area-projects-for-individuals-and-organisations

This funding supports individuals, groups and organisations that are led by and/or support ACFP Strategic Priority Area communities to develop and deliver a diverse range of arts and cultural experiences.

The program targets the Strategic Priority Areas:

  • First Nations stories and communities
  • Broad and inclusive communities and content
  • Broad and inclusive communities refers to the wide diversity of NSW people including First Nations communities, people of non-English speaking background, those from cultural and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities, and those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. It also refers to our regional communities outside the cities as well as the unique communities in our urban environments.
  • Accessibility and Equity
  • Accessibility and equity refer to the inclusion of people with disability or who are d/Deaf. When considering equity, you may wish to include areas of accessibility (physical, financial, economic and social), to ensure there are as few barriers as possible to engagement with your project.
  • Western Sydney and/or regional NSW; and
  • Next generation of creatives and audiences
  • includes young people aged between 18-25, as well as emerging artists, and arts and cultural workers who are generally in the first five years of their creative practice or profession, regardless of age. 

This funding could:

  • enable the development, creation and presentation of work designed, led by and/or for artists, arts and cultural workers, groups and organisations in NSW who are included in the Strategic Priority Areas.
  • strengthen communities through equitable access to arts and cultural experiences. 
  • provide capacity building opportunities and strengthen the diversity of cultural leadership within the NSW arts and culture ecosystem.
  • increase the visibility of work developed and created for and by prioritised NSW artists, arts and cultural workers, and audiences.
  • strengthen the creative ecosystem through collaborations and partnerships.
  • support access to resources and expertise for artists and arts and cultural workers to grow their careers.
  • contribute to personal and community wellbeing, and economic development.
