These Copland Foundation Grants fund projects throughout Australia that fall under the umbrella of Alex Copland’s interests, namely:

The study, management, conservation, acquisition, and interpretation of collections;

1. The study, management, conservation, acquisition and interpretation of relevant historic architecture,
2. The provision of education programs, whether for staff of such museums, institutions, societies, organisations or for the general public,
3. The purchase of art works and/or other artefacts, to be identified on public display by the purchaser as a gift from the Copland Foundation.

The Copland Foundation grants are divided into three categories:

1. Acquisitions
2. Conservation
3. Interpretation

To be eligible for assistance a museum/institution must:

1. Be recognised as a recipient institution under the Commonwealth Government’s Cultural Gifts Program or as an endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)
2. Be open to the public
3. Be seeking assistance to:
   • acquire, conserve or interpret an object or collection of objects
   • or, conserve or restore features of an historic building used for cultural purposes, its garden and/or surrounds. 

The Start Strong for Community Preschools program provides funding to deliver affordable quality preschool education for 3-to- 5 -year-old children enrolled in eligible community and mobile preschools in NSW. 

The program’s operational funding (Program Payment) supports the operating costs of eligible early childhood education services and enrolment of at least 600 hours per year or 15 hours per week. Evidence shows that this level of participation in a quality early childhood education program in the 2 years before school is associated with better outcomes for children.

The program’s fee relief funding (Fee Relief Payment) provides community and mobile preschools with sustainable long-term funding to deliver at least 600 hours of low, or no cost preschool to eligible children.

Start Strong promotes universal access and priority of access by providing:

• higher program funding rates for preschools which operate within the lower range of Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) score of relative socio-economic disadvantage
• additional funding for children 3 years old and above from low-income families, children with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, and children with disability or additional needs
• loadings for preschools that operate in outer regional, remote and very remote areas
• further loadings and subsidies as outlined in Appendix 1: Calculation and payment of funding
• up to $4,347 per year in fee relief for 3- to 5-year-old children enrolled in community and mobile preschools reducing the cost of early childhood education for families.

Screen Australia is now accepting applications for events, conferences and activities which exhibit unique benefits to the Australian screen industry.

These events must demonstrate an understanding of changes in audience engagement and how content is financed, made and delivered. Applications must demonstrate how they will have an impact on their audience/participants, or within their particular area of focus.

The aims of the program are to: 

• create opportunities through new, original and inclusive approaches to the industry that will expand networks and grow the Australian screen industry
• support impactful events which are also evolving to be relevant to future audiences and the screen industry
• provide opportunities for professional development/business growth.

Screen Australia is interested in receiving applications from organisers of industry events which are innovative and forward-focused, with plans to engage practitioners in the rapidly changing screen sector.

The objective of the grant opportunity is to provide co-funding for dealerships and repairers to install EV chargers.

The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to:

• increase in the number of EV charging stations throughout the country including remote and regional areas
• increase the number of EVs on the roads.

You can apply if you:

• have an Australian business number (ABN)
• have an account with an Australian financial institution
• are an entity, incorporated in Australia.

You must also be one of the following:

• a licenced motor dealer/trader
• a service centre associated with a licenced motor dealer/trader
• an automotive repair business, compliant with Australian Standards 5732:202 2 (EV operations – maintenance and repair) and which has at least one current member of staff suitable qualified to undertake work on EVs.

To be eligible for a rebate, you must have purchased and installed at least one eligible smart EV charger(s) at an eligible site (listed in section 4.2 of the grant opportunity Guidelines) on or after 26 March 2024.

Eligible smart EV chargers include:

• AC plugs with 7 kW charging speed (single phase)
• AC plugs with 11-22 kW charging speed
• DC plugs with 50 kW or less charging speed.

Participation Grants provide up to $20,000 to enable residential or small business consumer advocacy by participation in current or forthcoming government, regulatory, or industry decision-making processes.

Examples of activities that may be funded include engaging a consultant to provide technical or specialist expertise for a submission; undertaking research; hosting workshops; and funding for reasonable travel costs (flights, accommodation, transfers) to engage in government, regulatory and industry forums relating to that process.

Successful applications will demonstrate a clear outcome and can describe the positive impact you are aiming to achieve by engaging in this policy/ regulatory process.

93.5% of Australian registered nonprofits say they need assistance with digital marketing strategies and more than 50% still cannot accept donations online. These numbers are highly alarming considering the rapid change in donor demographics, the phasing out of Cheques by 2030 and the use of cash declining by 50% from 2019 - 2022.

Considering these statistics, The Little Phil Foundation has decided to assist Australian charities with two types of grants to aid with the transition to digital giving and increase supporter engagement. 

Grant Option 1 - Digital Marketing and Fundraising Boost (Valued at up to $30,000)
For organisations who are wishing to invest in building their digital supporters and preparing their organisation for the future of digital fundraising.

Grant Option 2 - Digital Giving & Marketing DIY (Valued at up to $2,380)
For organisations who are looking to adopt digital tools and technology that will assist their team and volunteers with implementing digital fundraising and marketing initiatives.

You can access a range of energy savings for your business by upgrading existing appliances and equipment or purchasing new ones.

Upgrading your equipment, appliances and system processes will help your business become more energy efficient, cut electricity and gas use and lower the cost of your bills. 

This will also support us in our goal to improve the affordability, reliability, accessibility and sustainability of our energy system in NSW.  

Available upgrades:

• Add a battery to your solar
• Compressed air systems
• Furnaces
• HVAC systems
• Hot water and steam systems
• Lighting
• Motors, pumps and fans
• NABERS rating improvements
• Power systems
• Process change and control system upgrade
• Refrigeration
• Bundled upgrades

The purpose of this grant is to provide Australian Government funding to support a wage increase for all eligible ECEC workers from December 2024.

Eligible ECEC workers include:

• workers covered by the Children’s Services Award 2010 and working in a Child Care Subsidy (CCS) approved Centre-Based Day Care (CBDC) or Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service;
• workers covered by the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 and working in a CCS approved CBDC or OSHC service; and
• workers who are undertaking duties covered by the Children’s Services Award 2010 or Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 and working in a CCS approved CBDC or OSHC service but are not covered by these awards (including workers covered by a state industrial instrument, or working in a setting covered by a different award), and these duties constitute the majority of that workers role. 

Trainees who are undertaking a registered traineeship and whose pay and conditions are not covered by the Children’s Services Award 2010 or the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 are not included as eligible ECEC workers. 

To be eligible you must be a legal entity that provides CBDC or OSHC services (a Provider). One Provider may apply in relation to one or multiple service locations (Services) that the Provider owns and operates.

The objective of the Program is to incentivise voluntary uptake of ADS-B equipment in Australian-registered aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) to improve safety and efficiency for Australian airspace users.

The program will provide:

• better situational awareness for pilots through improved electronic visibility of nearby airborne VFR and IFR aircraft
• enhanced search and rescue capabilities through improved air traffic information
• air traffic controllers with additional and accurate automated aircraft position information of VFR aircraft.

The Program funds two classes of eligible ADS-B equipment:

• installed ADS-B equipment that air traffic controllers can use for aircraft separation purposes (referred to as ADS-B)
• portable ADS-B equipment for local electronic traffic information purposes (referred to as ADS-B EC).

To apply you must:

• be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and shown in an approved registration database including:
• the CASA Australian aircraft register for VH aircraft (e.g. fixed wing, helicopter, balloon, glider) registration database managed by CASA
• an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation:
  • Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus)
  • Australian Sport Rotorcraft Association (ASRA)
  • Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA).
• purchase and/or install in your registered aircraft:
  • a device which provides ADS-B-OUT functionality or an ADS-B EC device but not both, after 20 December 2021, or
  • a device which provides ADS-B-IN functionality or a device which provides ADS-B-IN and OUT functionality, after 31 May 2024.

If a grant was paid in respect of your aircraft under ADS-B Round 1 you are eligible to apply under the following conditions:

• the equipment adds ADS-B IN functionality that was not previously available, or
• you are upgrading from an EC device to installed equipment.

Deafness Foundation Grants applications open July 1 and close on October 31 each year.

The Deafness Foundation Education Encouragement Grants recognise the challenges experienced by students who are deaf or hard of hearing in their effort to access and complete education and training. It is envisaged that these grants will significantly facilitate the students’ ability to complete future study. 

Applicants must:

• be deaf or have a permanent hearing loss in both ears.
  • A current audiogram performed by a qualified audiologist must be included with the completed application.
  • If the student has a cochlear implant, a statement from a Cochlear Implant Clinic, a Teacher of the Deaf, or a Disability Liaison Officer (or equivalent) in a tertiary institution that a cochlear implant is used must be provided in lieu of an audiogram.
• be a student in a school in a State or Territory of Australia.
• be nominated by a person who can provide supporting evidence for the nomination [e.g., Teachers, Aides, Interpreters, Tutors, Course Coordinators, Families / Caregivers].
• be a Permanent Resident of Australia.
• not be a previous recipient of a Deafness Foundation Education Encouragement Grant or Grant. Prior unsuccessful applicants may reapply.

A $10,000 First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) is available when you buy or build your first new home.

Your first new home can be a house, townhouse, apartment, unit or similar that is newly built, purchased off the plan or substantially renovated.

This grant supports families in purchasing life-changing equipment to increase physical development, independence, and social inclusion. The primary aim of the We Move Grant is to provide mobility equipment that is not easily available through statutory services.

The details of the grant are different to the previous mobility grant so please have a look at the guidelines to see if you are able to apply. It is also recommended you speak with your support person (e.g. medical professional, case worker, teacher, OT) to ensure they are able to assist you with some key sections of the application. 

The aim of the Environmental Grant Program is to facilitate projects that enhance the environment, protect the environment, or provide a sustainable environmental solution.

The criteria can be defined as follows:

ENHANCE - to raise to a higher degree, to intensify, to magnify.

PROTECT- to secure for future generations.

SUSTAINABLE- a system that maintains its own viability.

The Environmental Grant Program is derived from contributions made by Maules Creek Coal, Boggabri Coal and Tarrawonga Coal Mines under Voluntary Planning Agreements.

The program is administered by the Leards Forest Precinct Environmental Trust Inc. The Trust consists of representatives from the above mines, community and Gunnedah and Narrabri Shire Councils.

Having held three rounds of funding since its inception, the Environmental Grant Program is now to remain open to applications all year round. Applications will be required to be submitted by 30 April to be eligible to be funded in the May of each year and by 15 October to be considered in the November of each year.

The Sheargold Foundation offer grants either in response to applications and/or an expression of interest, to a need or opportunity identified by Sheargold Foundation’s board.

They strive to pinpoint charitable organisations with clear objectives, a fervent aspiration to create an impact, and a close resonance with their own mission and values. Their involvement extends beyond mere backing; they seek to leverage the expertise and experience of their board members to aid the charities they endorse.

From July to October each year, ATO accredited volunteers help people lodge their tax returns online. This Tax Help program is free and helps eligible people earning $60,000 or less lodge their tax return online.

These volunteers can also help you to:

• create a myGov account
• lodge an amendment to your tax return
• claim a refund of franking credits
• tell the ATO if you don't need to lodge a tax return.

You are eligible for Tax Help if your income is around $60,000 or less, have simple tax affairs for the income year and you didn't:

• work as a contractor – for example, a contract cleaner, taxi or uber driver
• run a business, including as a sole trader
• have partnership or trust matters
• sell shares or an investment property
• own a rental property
• have capital gains tax (CGT)
• receive royalties
• receive distributions from a trust, other than a managed fund
• receive foreign income, that is not a foreign pension or annuity.
