Week 5 - How to Add a Shop to Your Squarespace Site

Welcome to this week’s instalment of the Go Digital Free Training series. This is part 4 of 4 in the Squarespace module. This week I walk you through how to add a store to your Squarespace website.

In this module I show you how to add physical, digital and service products. I demonstrate the beginnings of how to connect your store to a payment processing service like PayPal or Stripe. I also show you how to edit the checkout screen as well as how to configure your store for GST. Although, adding in GST will only add this to your customer’s invoice – it won’t change how it looks on the website, so you won’t see a figure for GST in the store or on the checkout page. All prices entered will be assumed to include GST if you’ve configured your store for it and so 10% of the total will be used on the customer’s invoice after purchase.

How long will it take?

This week the videos will take about 60 -80 minutes of your time, if you watch all of them. I have separated them into 6 x 10-15 minute videos.

Probably allow another hour or two to work through the material yourself, depending on your skills and whether or not you have your product details (descriptions and photos) ready before hand.

Don’t feel like you have to watch all of the videos. Some of the information might not apply to you, especially if you don’t have services or digital products (delivered via email).

In video 1 I show you the beginning of how to create a shop in your Squarespace site. Duration 11:51

In video 2, I take you through how to add your first physical product (something physically purchased and delivered by a courier or similar). Duration 13:58

In video 3, we take a look at how the first product looks to the customer and I show you the beginning of how to setup a payment processing service like PayPal or Stripe. Duration 11:47

In video 4 I show you how to configure the checkout and how to add in taxes like GST. Duration 9:49

In video 5, I show you how to add a service product (such as a training course or accounting consultation etc). Duration 15:36

In video 6, I show you how to create a digital product, for example a pdf which is delivered via email after purchase. In the video I show you how to create a free one, and then I pretend to be a customer to show you the ordering process. Duration 10:02

What’s up next week?

Next week, we’ll delve into content creation for your blog. Discover how to search for the terms your customers are using in google and then use those to create a plan and blog posts for your audience.
