Export Market Development Grants - Round 2

ClosedGrant Closed: 17th of August 2022 - 4:00 pm Value: Unspecified Run By: Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) Further Information: https://www.austrade.gov.au/australian/export/export-market-development-grants/emdg-from-1-july-2021

Austrade’s Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program helps Australian businesses grow their exports in international markets. These grants encourage small to medium enterprises to market and promote their goods and services globally.

Small to medium enterprise (SME) exporters can apply for 3 different grants over 8 years. These may not be consecutive years. Grants are for eligible promotional activities.

Grants are available in 3 stages, or ‘tiers’. Each tier gives a different level of support for SMEs as they grow their export markets:

  1. Ready to export
  2. Exporting and expanding
  3. Exporting, expanding and strategic shift

The lengths of these grants reflect the different stages of an exporter’s journey.

Unless otherwise explicitly stated, EMDG is an eligibility based, demand driven program. This means all eligible applicants will receive a grant from the available funds. The grant amount an applicant receives depends on the number of eligible applications in the grant round (referred to as demand), and the available program budget to be shared amongst all eligible applicants.
