The CHSP Growth Funding 2024-25 grant opportunity (the grant opportunity) forms part of the extension of the CHSP program that was announced as part of the May 2023 Federal Budget.

This grant opportunity is a targeted growth round with a $100 million investment of funding in the 2024-25 financial year, to increase the availability Domestic Assistance, Home Maintenance, Allied Health and Therapy, and Transport services. The profile of the targeted growth priorities varies across Aged Care Planning Regions (ACPR) to address the local need and availability of services.

In addition, this grant opportunity seeks to attract new providers currently delivering other similar services that are focused on supporting the care economy, including those for aged care, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. This supports cost effective service delivery across these programs where the pool of providers are from the same sector.

The CHSP First Nations Growth Funding 2024-25 grant opportunity (the grant opportunity) forms part of the extension of the CHSP that was announced as part of the May 2023 Federal Budget.

The grant opportunity is a targeted growth round with a $10 million investment of funding in the 2024-25 financial year, to increase the availability culturally safe CHSP aged care services for First Nations people by First Nations people where there is an unmet demand.

The allocation of growth funding under this grant opportunity will target new Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), who are not already delivering CHSP services, to increase the availability of culturally safe CHSP services where there is an unmet demand by older First Nations people.

This grant opportunity seeks to ensure that all Australian’s living with cancer have access to high-quality and culturally safe support throughout their cancer experience. Acknowledging the existing national cancer screening programs and funding provided for more commonly diagnosed cancers, this grant opportunity will prioritise activities that focus on increasing equity across tumour types and/or priority populations. 

The Cancer Patient Support Program (the Program) will support, one-off, time-limited activities that provide national leadership on emerging priorities across the cancer control continuum. 

Assessment and notification of outcomes will be divided into three Submission Periods during the life of this Program. Each Submission Period will include assessment of applications that have been submitted to the grant opportunity over the preceding Submission Period. 

• Submission Period 1 will contain all applications submitted to the grant opportunity between the opening date and 2:00pm AEST on 14 May 2024.
• Submission Period 2 will contain all applications submitted to the grant opportunity between 2:01pm AEST on 14 May 2024 and 2:00pm AEST on 18 September 2024.
• Submission Period 3 will contain all applications submitted to the grant opportunity between 2:01pm AEST on 18 September 2024 and 2:00pm AEST on 1 August 2025.

To be eligible, your grant activity must be for a project that will provide improved outcomes for Australian’s living with cancer. Your activity should:

• provide access to high-quality and culturally safe resources and/or care throughout the cancer experience, where applicable;
• be supported by evidence to align with a priority population group and/or increasing equity across tumour types;
• align with the strategic objectives as identified in the Australia Cancer Plan and/or the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan; and
• demonstrate national applicability.

The Play Our Way Program Grant Opportunity is an open competitive opportunity that will provide funding of up to $200 million (inclusive of government administration costs) over three years from 2024-25. 

This Grant Opportunity aims to address the barriers women and girls face when participating in sport and physical activity by delivering quality facilities and sport participation experiences where the need is greatest, and in a manner that is safe, equitable, accessible, inclusive, sustainable and enduring. 

This Grant Opportunity will fund projects across two Streams: 

Stream 1: Facilities 

Applicants will be able to apply for a minimum of $50,000 up to a maximum of $1,500,000 for projects that support new and upgraded facilities, playing areas and spaces for sport and physical activity specifically for women and girls.

For Facility projects in small rural towns, remote communities or very remote communities as defined by the Modified Monash Model (MMM 5-78), the maximum will be $2,000,000 to reflect increased costs in rural and remote areas. Projects may be assessed and offered a lower amount than applied for.

Stream 2: Participation and equipment 

Applicants will be able to apply for a minimum of $50,000 up to a maximum of $1,000,000 for projects that support modifying and/or developing sustainable and enduring programs to promote women and girls’ participation in sport and physical activity, and/or new or upgraded equipment, specifically for women and girls. Projects may be assessed and offered a lower amount than applied for.

The WIP Doctor Stream makes direct payments to doctors who deliver eligible services in eligible locations.

The WIP Doctor Stream aims to encourage doctors to practise in regional rural and remote communities. It also promotes careers in rural medicine by providing financial incentives. For doctors to receive incentive payments, they must provide eligible services in eligible locations. We determine the locations using the Modified Monash Model (MM 2019) geographical classification system.

You can receive incentive payments of between $3,600 and $60,000 per year, depending on activity levels, location,  how long a doctor has been part of the program and, from 1 January 2024, a doctor’s vocational registration status.

It uses 2 systems to assess and pay these financial incentives:

• Central Payment System (CPS) – for doctors who bill the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) for eligible services.
• Flexible Payment System (FPS) – for doctors who provide eligible services and/or undertake training that is not reflected in the MBS.

Some doctors may provide services under both payment systems.

Payments are based on:

• activity levels within eligible locations
• how long a doctor has been part of the program and, from 1 January 2024
• a doctor’s vocational registration status (starting from 1 January 2024).

The WIP Doctor Stream replaced the General Practice Rural Incentives Program (GPRIP) in early 2020.
